When does UMe Tea open in Alameda?
It's already open. The UMe Tea Alameda store page lists the same hours every day, noon to 8 p.m.
The shop kicked things off with five days of deals. There was a free drink on October 16 if you posted about it, $2.99 drinks on October 17, buy one get one on October 18, free merch on October 19 and $5.99 popcorn chicken on October 20. Those are over now, so expect regular prices from here.
What's on the UMe Tea menu, and how much does it cost?
Think boba plus snacks. Here's a sample from UMe's online menu, though prices can vary a little by store:
- UMe Boba Milk Tea, $5.95
- Brown Sugar Boba Premium Oolong Milk Tea, the house signature, $5.95
- Uji Matcha Boba Latte, $6.25
- Sticky Rice Black Milk Tea, $5.45

Who's behind UMe Tea?
UMe opened its first shop in Cupertino in July 2019. It now has more than 30 stores across three states and says it has over 900,000 members in its rewards program. Its mascot is a bunny named Ume, and you'll spot it on the cups.
Until now, the closest UMe for Islanders was in San Leandro, on West Joaquin Avenue. Other East Bay shops are in Fremont, Livermore, Walnut Creek and San Ramon.
What this means for Alameda
Park Street gets another spot to grab a drink after school or before a movie, and it's open until 8 every night. If you're keeping track of new places, our Alameda restaurant news page has the rest, including One's Cafe and Bakery, which opened on Park Street. UMe hasn't posted any further opening events, so for now it's just a new boba shop on the block.
