What kind of food is JuXi serving?
It's Cantonese food filtered through a Bay Area lens. On its website, JuXi says its menu "represents a new generation of Cantonese+American cooking, rooted in the flavors we grew up with and shaped by our lives in Alameda." Some dishes stay close to tradition. Others draw on what the owners call the Bay Area's diverse food culture, built around California produce from local farms.
Why is it called JuXi?
The name comes from family, not a menu item. JuXi, pronounced "juicy" or "joo-see," is named after the parents of the restaurant's chef and owner. That's a common move in the restaurant world, but it's a nice signal here: the people behind JuXi are framing this as a family project, not just another opening.
Where exactly is JuXi on Park Street?
You'll find it at 1231 Park Street, right in the middle of one of Alameda's two main shopping strips. Alameda doesn't really have a single "downtown." It has Park Street and Webster Street, and locals know the difference. That stretch of Park Street has picked up several new spots recently, including One's Cafe & Bakery, so JuXi is joining a block that's already worth a walk through Alameda's food scene.
What happens next
JuXi hasn't locked in an exact opening date yet, just "September 2026" on its website. The team is actively hiring, so expect signage and prep work to ramp up on Park Street in the coming weeks. If you want updates before the doors open, JuXi's website lists hello@JuXiAlameda.com as the contact for questions.
