When does LuxFit Alameda open?
LuxFit says it's opening in October 2026, but its Alameda page doesn't list an exact day yet.
The company's story page puts it simply: "This October, we're crossing the Bay and bringing LuxFit to Star Harbor in Alameda." Founding members were told a membership advisor would reach out in early October to set start dates. If you've already got a spot and don't want to wait, LuxFit says it'll switch your membership on early so you can train at its San Francisco gyms first.
How much does a LuxFit Alameda membership cost?
Open gym, which LuxFit calls Core Access, is $110 per cycle at the founders rate, down from $135.
- Core Access: $110 founders rate, $135 regular, with drop-ins available
- Group Fitness: $225 founders rate, $250 regular, unlimited classes plus open gym
- Personal training: from $125 a session
- Physical therapy: from $175 a session
The first 50 founding memberships are already sold out. LuxFit says fewer than 50 of its next 100 founding spots are left. Those take a $50 nonrefundable deposit that goes toward your membership, and they lock in the discounted rate for 18 months. Every membership works at all LuxFit locations, so an Alameda member can also lift in Hayes Valley or at Mission Rock.
What's inside the Star Harbor gym?
It's built for lifting, with 13 Eleiko squat racks and dumbbells from 5 to 125 pounds.
LuxFit says the gym sits inside a restored early-1900s cannery with 25-foot ceilings, exposed brick and a covered outdoor training space that looks out over the waterfront. Classes will cover strength, HYROX, conditioning, yoga, mobility, Olympic lifting and Pilates. There's also a recovery area with a Finnish sauna and compression boots, plus on-site physical therapy and chiropractic care.
What this means for Alameda
A gym brings people to this stretch of Clement Avenue early in the morning and after work, which is good news for the neighbors on the ground floor. It's the second Star Harbor business we've covered, after Highwire Coffee opened its second Alameda cafe there. LuxFit started in December 2020 with what it calls San Francisco's first outdoor gym, and Alameda is its first move across the Bay.
